The magic of Advent lights up the towns.
In addition to the 5 original South Tyrolean Christmas markets in Brixen, Bozen, Meran, Bruneck and Sterzing, medieval and Alpine Christmas markets are held in many other towns.
The Plose cable car, which is just 2.5 kilometres from the Hörmannhof, opens at the beginning of December.
The Plose ski area stretches high above the town of Brixen with 43 kilometres of pistes. A particular highlight is South Tyrol’s longest downhill slope, called “the Trametsch”, which leads from the Plose summit to St. Andrä.
For the youngest skiers, there is a practice slope and a ski kindergarten in the Kinderland.
For tobogganists, the wide and sunny path to the Rossalm starts from the mountain station in Kreuztal and takes about an hour. The toboggan is correspondingly faster in returning back to Kreuztal.
Rudi Run: Experience the 9 km long natural toboggan run on the Plose, which leads from Kreuztal to the valley station in St. Andrä.

The Würzjoch cross-country ski trail stretches from the “Russisbrücke” bridge at the end of the Aferer Valley to the famous “Würzjoch” pass below the Peitlerkofel. In total, there are over 16 kilometres and over 400 metres of ascent to complete.
Follow the forest track 11, which is closed to cars, up to the Halslhütte and continue to the Würzjoch. The way back is the same as the outward route.
A 6 km winter hiking trail also leads from Kreuztal through snow-covered forests to the ski hut, with refreshments available at the Berghotel Schlemmer.
